Founder Kristian Rasmussen decided back in 2010 that being a fan of great music just wasn’t enough. So with past musical influences in mind he set forth on a 6-month musical writing spree and created the beginnings of what is now known as Go For Gold. With the help of a few long time musicians and friends the transformation was complete and the result is certainly worthy of play on Dream Wave.

Their current 6 song EP is a dreamy and noisy pop-rock album reminiscent of bands like My Bloody Valentine, Smashing Pumpkins and The Pixies all rolled into one. Take a listen and rate your favorites for more plays and a chance at the Top-10 songs on the Indie Darkroom. – Steven Newcastle

Gary B & The Notions played a special set for Darkroom Live on Tuesday.
We had a lot of fun hanging out with them and hope they come back soon.
Hailing from Baltimore, they stopped by the studio while in NY as their tour began.

They are touring in support of their new album “How Do We Explode” due out on may 8th.
If you missed their performance on Darkroom Live , you still may have time to catch the rebroadcast.

The Telewire – Turn This Around

Singer / songwriter Stephen Thurman is the man behind the music of The Telewire. Based in Austin, Texas, The Telewire sports noisy, yet dreamy shoegaze rock tracks that bring vision and continuity directly from Stephen’s mind. I’m often drawn to thick synth patches or electronic elements in music and that’s why my affinity for the music of The Telewire is so significant. Although there are some synth lines buried in the music it’s the organic and gritty noisiness that really makes The Telewire so genius. His latest album entitled “Turn This Around” is a 6 track noise-rock journey worth taking for any avid shoegaze fan.
