Under the Moon – November 28th

This week’s featured band is The Sleep Tights. They make melodic, reverb soaked weird songs. There is slide guitar in there, some surf and some off-kilter but catchy in-their-own-right songs. These guys used to play in a great band called Dirty Poodle back in Gainesville, Florida back in the day. Here we preview some of the new music they’ve been working on as The Sleep Tights.

The Sleep Tights – Any Law Against Throwing Stones
The Sleep Tights – Passages in Every Room
The Sleep Tights – Silver Ship
Dan Reeder – I Drink Beer
Lone Hymnal – Lonely Town
Widowspeak – Harsh Realm
Yuck – Milkshake
Youth Lagoon – July
The Warlocks – Left and Right of the Moon
The Walkmen – Canadian Girl
The Brian Jonestown Massacre – It Girl
Vin Hill – Lie Won’t Get You Into Heaven
Tamaryn – Love Fade
Lambchop – Nashville Parent

Tune in next Monday night at midnight!

Here is very cool and tight performance from Bill Callahan. I played him on the show tonight, he’ll be in town this week playing stuff off his new record, Apocolypse, which we’ve rotated some here at the station. This song is off this new record, it’s called Baby’s Breath. Love that guitar in the middle of the song, and of course Bill’s voice is alwayssss on.

Under the Moon: Lab Coast

Lab Coast is David Laing, Chris Dadge,
Shawn Dicey, and Scott Munro

I choose Lab Coast as my featured band for this week.
Here is a link to their tumblr: labcoast.tumblr.com
They are from Calgary, and they make lo-fi pop gems. They just released a record in February called Pictures on the Wall on Eggy Records. Eggy Records is an awesome record label and cassette tape distributor from Portland, OR. Check them out too at: eggyrecords.blogspot.com
