Helpful information about writing reviews

Most music reviews are in three parts:  An introduction which answers questions about the band, a middle section which answers questions about the bands music, or a bands release, and a concluding section, which ties things together and answers any final questions a reader might have.

Some typical questions a writer might ask a band in order to write a review:

What is the name of the band?

Is there a story to the name?

Who are the members of the band?

Is there a story to how they met?

When and where did the band form?

What instruments are they playing?

Have members been in other notable bands?

Where is home base for the band?

What is the name of the release being reviewed?

Is there a story to the name?

Is there an underlying theme to the release?

What song would you single out and why?

What would be that singles b side and why?

How was the release recorded?

How does this release compare to previous releases by this band?

How is it being made available or released?

Is the band touring behind this release?

What was it like working on this recording?
